Learn about Me

Welcome to my website.  I have been an artist since I was a little girl.  My mother, who is also an artist, taught me at an early age why and how to appreciate art.  It is because of my parents that I am an artist today.  I also have three very talented and crafty sisters that guided me along in my artistic world by liking everything I made whether it was good or not!  I couldn't ask for a better family.

Now I have my husband, Mark, who also paints beautiful landscape paintings, to lean on for support.  Mark and our two wonderful children help guide and direct me in the right direction when a painting doesn't look quite right.  Never reject criticism when it is meant to improve your life, instead, embrace it and grow.

I am a native of Louisville, Ky, where I have the privilege of enjoying the thoroughbred horses of Kentucky.  I was a self-taught artist until I started taking classes from the Campbell Studio in Lagrange, Ky in 2006 thru 2009.  Since then I learn by doing, studying and watching others.  I like studio painting the most, but have recently ventured out and joined the Plein Air Painters of Ky.  I enjoy learning the difference between painting very detailed in the studio and painting very loose in Plein air (French for "open air").
